Some financial institutions don't play nice with third-party services like PocketGuard and require their customers to complete multi-factor authentication more often.
In order for PocketGuard to pull the most recent data for your accounts at such institutions, from time to time, you may need to manually complete the multi-factor authentication, as there is no option to bypass it on our end. This is simply a fallout of stricter authentication norms that provide better security at the expense of user experience.
Please follow these steps to complete authentication:
- Go to Accounts;
- Hit Details;
- You'll see a "reconnect" pop-up;
- Click on the "Let’s go" button;
- Answer the multi-factor authentication (MFA) challenge correctly.
The most common examples of such institutions are:
- American Express
- Bank of Montreal
- Cambrian Credit Union
- CIBC Canada
- Community Trust Bank (KY)
- Fidelity Investments
- FirstBank of Colorado
- First Premier Bankcard
- Golden 1 Credit Union
- Huntington Bank
- Marcus by Goldman Sachs
- MidFirst Bank
- M1 Finance
- People's United Bank
- Royal Bank of Canada
- Servus Credit Union
- Simplii Financial
- Social Finance(SoFi)
- Statewide FCU (MS)
- Tangerine
- TD Canada Trust
- University CU
- Wealthfront Inc.
